PROGRAMS

The school's existence of more than half a century (1949-2004) has brought about a school climate that is peculiar to itself. Based from the Congregation's guidelines, teachings of the Church, the country's constitutional objectives on education, and the signs of the times on the global, national and local bases – certain thrusts, traditions and practices have evolved to make up what is truly the brand of La Consolacion College education - the true LCC spirit. The following are considered the school's thrust, traditions and practices.

  • Religion/Values Education – As an Augustinian Catholic Institution, La Consolacion College acknowledges Religion to be the core of the curriculum. It is the solid basis from which the other disciplines spring forth. As such the values propounded in Religion are reiterated in all the other subjects of the curriculum, in the student activities and in the school practices through the program of Interdisciplinary Schematic Webbing (ISW) and the use of the Student-Centered Participatory Learning Approach – ADIDSE.

  • Personnel Formation/Development – Based from the dictum that “one cannot give what one does not have” – the school emphasizes personnel on-going formation in four dimensions – Pray Together, Play Together, Study Together and Work Together activities all throughout the school year. Pray Together, which is aimed at strengthening, and deepening the personnel's faith and spiritual growth includes recollections, paraliturgies and live-in retreat. Play Together, which aims to enhance an improved interrelationship and fortify the personnel's socio-emotional growth, includes agapes, cultural presentations, excursions and the like. Study Together, which is aimed at the professional growth in the service by the personnel, includes – seminar-workshops, exposures and other in-service activities. Work Together, which promotes efficiency and effectiveness in the service, includes surveys and research proceedings in preparation for the school's on-gong development-accreditation.
  • School Development – PAASCU-Accreditation – In line with the goal of promoting quality education, LCC has entered the accreditation program by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities. Since the BED's initial accreditation in 1991 and 1992 respectively the school has been undergoing a series of surveys and re-surveys through the years. PAASCU accreditors validate the institutional self-survey results made by the personnel thereby ensuring quality instruction and services on an on-going basis.
  • Outreach Activities – Considering the congregation's and the school's option for the poor as well as the act of creating a harmonious school and community relations, La Consolacion College maintains the Mother Rita Barcelo Program for Outreach. The school has adopted a pilot barangay aside from maintaining a close coordination of GO's and NGO's regarding the school's outreach activities. These include exposure, dole-outs, non-formal classes, BEC and the Free Summer Nursery Program, which started in 1997, and the like. Its most concrete manifestation however is through the school's Free High School for the indigents.

  • Cooperatives Program – This is a service-oriented program aimed at uplifting the economic and financial needs of the school and the bigger community. The Adult Cooperative comprises the Credit Coop and Consumers' Coop where while the former caters to credit and loan services, the latter caters to grocery items and other basic commodities. The Student Cooperatives on the other hand entails a daily savings aimed at inculcating the values of thrift and honesty.
