Specific Objectives of the Degree Programs

Within the context of the community of friends as defined in the institutional Vision-Mission Statement, the College Department aims to develop students who will bear witness through their personal and professional undertaking the OSA tradition of living faith in the compassionate Christ and in humble service to the greater majority of the Filipino especially the poor thereby contributing to the development of the Filipino nation and the Church. The College Department offers degree programs with the following program objectives:

The Computer Program

Aims to produce graduates whose intellectual and technical skills and competencies in the use of computer technology further helps the individual's self reliance and the nation's economic growth. Computer Science and Technology offers basic concepts, theories, as well as, intensive practicum skills enabling professional competence in order to cope with the high demand for computer experts in the local and global markets. It seeks to accomplish the objectives by making available to the college department - modern facilities, books and equipments. The curriculum is designed relevant to the manpower needs in line with national development and ideals.

Computer Technology

The Education Program

Aims to produce graduates whose professional competence in ethics, social awareness and involvement and whose keen sense of Filipino culture is applied to the development of a Christian nationalist society and democratic education in both formal and non-formal sectors. Teacher Education is offered to those who intend to teach in the basic education department whose primary objective is to acquire knowledge with specialization on the different major fields of concentration and computer technology, integrating among others Christian values and critical transmission of culture through evocative and participative methods.

The Tourism Program

Aims to produce graduates whose professional skills and competencies are applied to the promotion of greater understanding among the different sectors of the Philippine society, and among people from different cultural and national environments, thereby contributing to the development of the Philippine Tourism Industry which emphasizes human dignity, social justice, mutual respect, appreciation of different cultural practices and national pride. Tourism Education is offered to those who intend to meet the changing needs of the travel and tourism industry, hotel and resort management and food and beverage management while continuing to pursue the traditional principles of learning and research. It aims to enable graduates to acquire the technical skills required at the entry level for career and employment opportunities eventually leading to leadership & managerial roles in the industry.

Associate Course (2 years)

Tourism Guide Specialist

The Hotel and Restaurant Program

Aims to produce graduates whose Christian outlook, nationalist orientation and professional skills and competencies are applied to creative and responsive development and utilization of manpower resources and indigenous and local materials thereby contributing to the development of an efficient, self-reliant local Hotel and Restaurant industry.

Associate Course (2 years): Hotel and Restaurant Management
